How to clean your make up brushes

Being a Make up Artist and a make up addict I have ALOT of brushes so its a bit of a task to clean them but it has to be done! I clean my brushes with anti bacterial soap or baby shampoo. When im on the go and doing clients make up I use the No7 brush cleaner in between clients. I clean my brushes from my make up kit everyday that I use them. I clean my own personal use brushes once a week or once every two weeks depending on how often I used them. I would defiantly recommend cleaning your brushes once a week or once every two weeks so you don't spread germs and spots you may have on your skin and if you are doing other peoples make up it is extremely important to clean with anti bacterial products between clients!

- Using warm water wet the hairs of the brush, make sure you don't get water above the silver bit as it can cause your brushes to fall apart.

- I put a tiny bit of soap on my hand and swirl the brush in the soap and create suds, some brushes will be alot messier than others like your foundation brush, it may take a while for them to be fully clean.
- After that rinse under warm water and repeat until the water runs clear.
- After your brush is fully clean make sure you put the hairs back into their original shape while they are still wet.
- Squeeze out the excess water with your towel and you can also shape brush by doing this.

- When leaving my brushes to dry make sure the hairs are over the edge of your counter so the air reaches all of the hairs
- Brushes will take a few hours to dry and when they do they feel brand new!
- I would not recommend using a hair dryer to dry them as it can melt the hairs down and also I wouldn't recommend leaving them on a radiator. As make up brushes are expensive its too risky.
- Leave brushes air dry for best results.

Spring Summer 2014 make up trends

Spring is here and now its time for lighter, fresher and pastel colours that are really flirty and girly! Trend make up can be quite daring and different! Most people change up there make up slightly between autumn/winter and spring/summer by wearing different lipstick shades. This spring summer I want you to try something you would never usually try, like nude eyes, bright neon orange lips, or a messy and lived in smokey eye! I want you to step out of your comfort zone and try something a bit daring! Here are some of my favourite make up looks for spring summer 2014.

As you can see the skin is very natural and fresh. Alot of bb creams and very sheer foundations are being used. Nude eyes or eye liner with a flick and nothing on the bottom lash line. Pastel lips and bright orange lips.White eye liner or white eye shadow dusted over the eye lid. Very smoked out, glossy and lived in eyes.

My favourite is the smokey lived in eyes with natural foundation and nude lips. I think it is so chic and sexy. I think you can wear it during the day or at night. It looks so effortless and like you just came home from a night out! This look is also so easy to do as it does not have to be 'perfect'. Alot of celebs and models are pulling off this nude look in very classy ways or very grunge ways and I love both! One celeb who is pulling off this nude make up look is the gorgeous Kim Kardashian, i think this make up is breath taking on Kim and is alot better than her usual black and grey smokey eyes.

M.A.C. have a new collection out called 'magnetic nude' and the collection is gorgeous. So this season try new shades of lipsticks or try a very nude and natural make up look. Its fun to try new make up looks as you can find new ways to enhance your beautiful features and experiment with new products. This will open up so many ideas to spice up your make up. I hope you enjoyed reading this post and I hope I inspired some of you to try some new looks and new products.

In order to be irreplaceable one must always be different. - Coco Chanel

Valentines Day Nails

Hey everyone I hope your having a great day! As im sure all of you know its coming up too valentines day! Whether you love it or hate it all these pink and red colours are so tempting to wear on valentines day whether you incorporate it in too your make up, fashion or nails. So today I did my nails and im going to show you how I did them! you can mix and match the colours to suit you, but I chose pinks for valentines day :)

These are my favourite valentines day nail polish colours

these are the colours and polishes I used

Steps
- Remove any nail varnish your have on with nail polish remover.
- Then I put cuticle oil on and massaged and pushed down my cuticles.
- I applied the 'nails inc'. base coat on my nails and waited for my nails to dry.
- I then applied one coat the 'max factor' pink nail polish on 4 of my fingers
- I painted my thumb nails with the angelica light pink and free handed a heart in the dark pink
- So after the nails are dry I put on these stickers ( don't know what too call them)

- These will create a half moon shape then I painted over the dark pink with the angelica light pink

- Make sure you wait for the polish to dry fully then carefully peel off the stickers.
- After that I applied the 'Sally Hansen' top coat on my nails for a long lasting effect and a nice shine.
- You can also add little diamonds on your nails for a little sparkle 1 just added one to finish the look.

So these are the finished nails with or with out the little diamond. I hope you try them out whether its using these colours or other colours but I really like this half moon shaped idea and its very easy to do! I hope you all have a great valentines day!
